Fantasia 2008;

'The Art Lover', a 9-min short film by emerging Montreal director Andrew Krajewski. The film is described as Quentin Tarantino meets Jean Baudrillard in a bathtub: a hitman reminisces about killing an artist.

It features the song 'World Death Clock' by thisquietarmy, as well as snippets of other released songs. I haven't seen it yet, but this is what I've been told. Schedule it for July 20th, 7:00pm at the DB Clarke Theater.

More details here: http://www.fantasiafest.com/2008/en/films/film_detail.php?id=194

I'm in the process of migrating the thisquietarmy talk to someplace more accessible, for various reasons. LJ has always been more of a personal, friends-only kind of thing that has evolved for the past 7-8 years or so (yikes!). And this isn't really a thisquietarmy LJ, and the whole friends-adding solely based on thiking that this is a Thisquietarmy infozone isn't justifiable.

That whole music talk, announcements, press, reviews... however not limited to PR - will also include travelling accounts, tour/gig logs, recording process, art stuff, and anything related to music - and not just my own either. Thus, I give you:

thisquietarmy.blogspot.com

Hopefully the blog will be true to its form, without being superficial or whatever.

Tomorrow i'm playing at the Friendship Cove, a DIY-loft in the middle of the ghostly streets of Griffintown, opening for Place Hands (Toronto).

thisquietarmy, LIVE at the Trepid House (Attic Gallery), Waterloo - 11/4/2008:

The Trepid House is a 3-story house on King St. in Waterloo, where shows are happening once or twice a week. That night, for the first time ever, they opened the attic to performers that usually serves as a gallery to expose artwork. Thisquietarmy was the first artist to perform in the attic, the setting and the sound was perfect. People came up quietly to watch & listen, while others were listening in other themed rooms (pirate room, arboterum, living room, kitchen, etc.), as the soundsystem was wired throughout the house. Here's a shot captured by Owen Cherry, the house photographer:

Check out more TQA shots here: trepid house photo gallery. Also check out those of Mahogany Frog from the same night to give you an idea of the main space in the living room.
